Our Policies

Enrolment and Fee Structure

Term-Based Commitment

Enrolment for the Drop-Off Day Program and Your Amazing Choir (Junior and Senior) is accepted strictly on a per-term basis. To secure your child’s place in these capped programs, new enrolment forms must be submitted and invoices paid in full at the commencement of the term.

Once a term has commenced, families are committed to the full term's fees. If a family chooses to withdraw their child from the Drop-Off Day or Choir program mid-term, no pro-rata refunds or fee reductions will be provided. Exceptional circumstances (such as medical emergencies or relocation) may be reviewed case-by-case at the owner's absolute discretion.

Non-Refundable Fees & Attendance

Because positions are limited and staffing, resources, and venue costs are calculated based on fixed term numbers, no refunds or credits will be issued for non-attendance. This includes absences due to casual illness, family holidays, conflicting appointments, or personal reasons. However families will have the option to book an extra day within that term on the alternative day to their enrolment.

Illness and Attendance

To maintain a healthy environment, children who are unwell must not attend the program.

Children displaying symptoms such as fever, vomiting, diarrhea, chronic coughing, or unidentifiable rashes within the previous 48 hours will not be able to attend the program. If a child becomes unwell during a session, the parent will be contacted and must arrange for immediate collection within 1 hour from notification. Non-attendance due to illness remains subject to the standard Enrolment and Fee Structure Policy.

Your Amazing Choir

Choir Placement Policy

At Your Amazing Child, our choir program is designed to help every child develop a love of singing while participating in an ensemble that best supports their current stage of musical development.

Junior Choir

The Junior Choir provides a welcoming environment where children develop the fundamental skills of ensemble singing, including:

  • singing in tune

  • keeping a steady beat

  • listening to others

  • developing vocal confidence

  • learning performance skills.

Children typically participate in Junior Choir throughout their primary years, though not exclusively. On occasion the Choir Director may request children sit a Placement Assessment when the Junior Choir seems to no longer be serving the needs of an individuals child’s musical development. This is at the discretion of the Choir Director and in consultation with their parents.

Senior Choir

The Senior Choir performs more challenging repertoire and introduces part singing, greater musical independence, increased rehearsal expectations, and more advanced skill development.

For this reason, a Placement Assessment is used to determine the choir’s suitability to the child.

Children who turn 12 during the current calendar year are eligible to take a Placement Assessment, to determine whether Junior or Senior Choir would better provide a place in which they could flourish, in the following year.

The Placement Assessment is designed to ensure that each child is placed in the choir where they are most likely to experience success, enjoyment and continued musical growth. It is not a pass or fail assessment, but rather a placement process where we match the best choir to the development of the child.

Following the Placement Assessment, some students may be invited to remain in the Junior Choir for a further period while they continue developing the vocal and musicianship skills required for Senior Choir. This provides them with the best opportunity to build confidence before progressing to more advanced repertoire.

Students are welcome to sit the Placement Assessment again in future years as their skills continue to develop.

Our goal is for every child to participate in the choir that will allow them to flourish, contribute confidently to the group, and experience the joy of making music together.
